Kate Middleton might cause a stir wherever she goes but it seems she isn’t quite the centre of attention on the school run. The Princess of Wales has been taking some time out of the public eye amid her ongoing health battle.

But she made a return to the spotlight earlier this summer when she appeared at Trooping the Colour and the Wimbledon Men’s Finals. She was also spotted at Balmoral estate last weekend along with Prince William and their three children as they joined King Charles, Queen Camilla and other Royals at their annual trip to Aberdeenshire.

When Prince George and Princess Charlotte return to school for the new term next month, it is likely that Kate will resume some of her responsibilities. As future Queen, she is guaranteed to garner some attention.

But it seems that isn’t the case at the school gates, Daily Record reports. Catherine, Princess of Wales regularly carried out the school run for Prince George and Princess Charlotte when they went to Thomas’s Battersea day school.

Most people would be stunned to bump into the princess on the school run – but it seems the dads were not so impressed. Sources claim they had their eyes fixed on another mum instead.

A parent previously told Daily Mail: “No-one really gives Kate a second glance when she does the school drop-off. We have a Victoria’s Secret model doing the school run too, and the dads are far more interested in her.”

Both Kate and William have been praised for getting stuck in with school functions and events despite their Royal status. A source told OK! Magazine: “Kate comes from a supportive family so she’s very keen on family networks and networks of friends and organisations.

“As parents, they are also very good at rolling up their sleeves and helping out with school events; sports days, fundraisers, and that sort of thing. They try to just be like normal parents with normal parenting challenges.”

Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe told OK! how Kate’s own childhood was a ‘template’ for what she wanted her three children’s upbringing to look like. He said: “She’s a very hands-on mum, so she always makes sure she’s the one going with the children to buy school shoes as well as stocking up on school stationery.

“Everything is very straightforward with William and Kate. Aside from the school fees, they’re bringing up their children in a quintessentially British middle-class way.”

The children started attending a new school in 2022 when the family relocated from London to Windsor.
