The Princess of Wales had the perfect reaction to being heckled
Kate Middleton remained calm and poised after being confronted by a woman during a recent visit to Northern Ireland. The Princess of Wales has since been praised online for her “fabulous” reaction.

Kate and Prince William went on an impromptu walkabout in Belfast where the Duchess was heckled by a woman in green. The couple had been in the country for a one-day visit to talk to members of the Public Initiative for the Prevention of Suicide and Self Harm (PIPS) charity.

The woman, who was filming on her phone, said: “Nice to meet you, but it would have been better if you were in your own country.”

She then added: “Ireland belongs to the Irish.”

Kate shook hands with the woman and laughed politely before turning her attention to other members of the crowd, most of whom were there to welcome the Princess. Fans of the royal have since taken to social media to share their praise, reports Cornwall Live.

Jane Ryde said: “Well handled by Princess of Wales don’t comment smile and move on! Fabulous.”

“That’s ok – there will be always opposition and/or challenging situations,” wrote Trinigirl71. “She did well though. She handled it with pure dignity & class.”

While Tom Ficquette commented: “The Princess of Wales is a class act no matter the situation she is put into by the public. That’s a special individual!”

The Prince and Princess spoke to members of staff at the suicide prevention centre about their life-saving work with vulnerable people. The charity has reportedly seen a 500% increase in young people reaching out for help, according to People. As such William and Kate asked the staff members and councillors about their initiatives including the “no appointment needed” service.

The couple then went on to visit Trademarket, a food court where the pair had a light-hearted cocktail making competition. Their final stop was in Carrickfergus, to speak to mentors and youths at a charity called Carrick Connect.
