Since joining the tour, Mickelson's performance has not been at the level he desires, raising questions about the reasons behind it.

Phil Mickelson, a controversial figure in the golf scene, has drawn attention for quite some time, especially since joining LIV Golf. His move to LIV Golf surprised many fans, but now, two years later, it seems people have become accustomed to it. Since joining the tour, Mickelson’s performance has not been at the level he desires, raising questions about the reasons behind it. Is it age, a loss of passion for the game, an injury, or another issue? Ahead of a golf event, Mickelson decided to address his performance, highlighting that his short game is an area where he needs to improve.

“You know, surprisingly if you look at the analytics, it’s been my short game that’s just crushed me the last few years,” Mickelson said, as quoted by Golf Magic.

“I’ve been like, last in scrambling on LIV. It’s been a staple of my game throughout my career, and the last couple years it’s been the reason why I have not scored and had the results. That’s where I’ve been focusing.”

Many speculate about Mickelson’s future, aware that he is 54 years old. It’s expected that, at his age, it’s difficult for him to perform at his peak, but Mickelson remains determined and is still ready to achieve great things on the golf scene. Responding to retirement rumors, Mickelson stressed his age but emphasized that his body is physically fit. He has endured and overcome many injuries. While he is pleased with his physical condition, Mickelson is focused on improving his game in the coming period. It seems he is frustrated by his inability to perform at his best as he once did.

The American golfer remains optimistic about the future, stressing that both he and his teammates see signs that he could return to his former level of play. Mickelson is cautious, however, stating that if he is not satisfied with his performance in the near future, he intends to step back and give others the chance to take over the HyFlyers.

He wants to be fair to himself and his fans, believing that competing at a high level is unnecessary if he cannot achieve positive results. For golfers accustomed to performing at an elite level for years, adjusting to phases of decline is particularly challenging. A golfer’s career is marked by both highs and lows, and how one handles these moments is crucial. A crisis is inevitable, but it’s important to reignite passion and strive to return to former glory.

Negotiations between the PGA Tour and the Public Investment Fund (PIF) are still lasting. It’s been over a year and two months since their initial framework agreement, but a final deal has yet to be reached. Although the original deadline was December 31, both parties have encountered several barriers that need to be addressed.

Optimism remains due to the positive outlook from leaders of both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, who believe an agreement will be reached, though some issues still need resolving.

Mickelson, however, is not satisfied with the current state of golf, describing it as a “disruption phase,” and hoping that things can return to how they once were. Despite his dissatisfaction, he remains optimistic that, following the negotiations, golf will regain its best days. His experience lends credibility to this optimism, suggesting that improvements are indeed possible.

Phil Mickelson on LIV Golf, TV figures and Youtube
The 54-year-old golfer joined LIV Golf because its leaders had a vision to modernize the sport, create evolution, and introduce innovations. They have succeeded in this, and judging by the reactions, it seems they made the right move. Mickelson stresses that YouTube is the future of the sport and is not concerned about LIV’s TV viewing figures. For him, the most important thing is that LIV Golf continues to develop, expand globally, and secure contracts. Phil doesn’t seem particularly worried about LIV Golf, confident that they are on the right track and aiming for even greater success.

“The compensation that we’ve all received has been basically to give up 14 weeks of the year and commit, say, okay, wherever you tell us to go, we’re going to go.

We’re going to go and compete, and that’s all throughout the world. So now when you are Hong Kong and you sign a deal to have LIV Golf come, you know who you’re getting. “-Phil Mickelson said.

The experienced golf veteran has faith in the project, confident that some of the world’s best golfers are competing in LIV Golf, helping to expand the brand to other continents and countries. One of LIV Golf’s goals has been to globalize the sport. They are making impressive strides towards this, aiming for LIV Golf to be recognized in every corner of the world.
