Novak Djokovic with the Paris Masters trophy in 2019

Novak Djokovic will not defend his title at the 2024 Paris Masters, but the great Serbian holds all of the most significant records in the tournament’s history.

The 37-year-old withdrew from this year’s edition of the ATP Masters 1000 event, which will run from October 28 to November 3, earlier this week.

“Unfortunately I won’t be playing the Paris Masters this year,” the 24-time Grand Slam champion wrote on Instagram.

“I have a lot of great memories, winning seven titles and I hope to be back with you next year. Sorry to everyone who was hoping to see me there.”

Here, we look at the remarkable records Djokovic holds at the Paris Masters.

Djokovic has secured a record seven titles at the Paris Masters, which is the most he has won at any Masters 1000 tournament.

The Serbian has beaten seven different opponents in his triumphant Paris finals: Gael Monfils (2009), David Ferrer (2013), Milos Raonic (2014), Andy Murray (2015), Denis Shapovalov (2019), Daniil Medvedev (2021) and Grigor Dimitrov (2023).

Most consecutive titles and finals
Djokovic is the only player to defend the Paris Masters title since the inception of the event in 1969, having won three straight editions between 2013 and 2015. He is also the only man to feature in three consecutive finals.

Most finals
The long-time former world No 1 has reached nine Paris Masters finals, which is more than any other player in the event’s history.

On top of his seven titles, Djokovic’s two defeats in championship matches came against Karen Khachanov in 2018 and Holger Rune in 2022.

Most consecutive match wins
The 37-year-old holds the record for the longest winning streak at the Masters 1000 event with his 17 successive victories between 2013 and 2016.

He earned 15 of these wins across his title runs in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and added two more wins in 2016, before his run ended with a quarter-final loss to Marin Cilic.

Most matches played
Djokovic has contested more matches at the Paris Masters than any other player with 59. He holds a 50-9 win-loss record, which gives him a win rate of 84.7%.

Most matches won
Unsurprisingly, the seven-time champion’s lofty total of 50 match wins is also a record at the indoor hard-court tournament.

Most editions played
Djokovic has competed at the Paris Masters a record 17 times since making his debut as an 18-year-old in 2005. Since his first appearance, the Serbian has only missed the event three times (2017, 2020 and 2024).
