Carlos Alcaraz recently took part in the pick a partner, opponent and coach game and he made some interesting selections from the trio of players that were given to him.

In a feature for his racket sponsor Babolat, the two-time Grand Slam winner was given three names and he had to say which one would be his partner, which player he would select as his opponent and which player he would pick as his coach.

Former world No 1 and 22-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal, 2020 US Open champion Dominic Thiem and former world 6 No Felix Auger-Aliassime were the options given to him.

“Alright, my opponent is Dominic Thiem. My partner Felix Auger and my coach Rafa Nadal,” he answered.

When it was put to him “so you won’t partner with Rafa?” he replied: “[He] would be a good partner, of course, but I have to choose Rafa Nadal as a coach. I mean [with] his experience I think I can learn a lot from him so that’s why I just [have to pick him] as a coach.”

The 20-year-old was then asked about teaming up with Nadal at the 2024 Paris Games.

Spaniards are dreaming of a Nadal-Alcaraz partnership at this year’s Olympics with high hopes they would win gold in the men’s doubles at Roland Garros, but it remains to be seen if Nadal will play.

The tennis great has struggled with injury over the past year. After making his comeback at the start of the year following hip surgery in June last year, he once again finds himself on the sidelines due to injury and his latest return date remains up in the air.

“Yeah of course it would be a dream,” reigning Wimbledon champion Alcaraz said. “I have said many times that it is a long path until the Olympic Games, a lot of months ahead of the Olympics so he has to be in good shape, myself as well so let’s see. Obviously, for me it would be a dream.”

In a different video, the Spaniard was asked if he has met his celebrity crush yet.

“No, not yet,” he replied.

Asked who is celebrity crush is and he gave it some good thought before saying: “I don’t know, uh, it’s so tough to say. A few days ago I heard an interview Stefanos [Tsitsipas] and he said Margot Robbie. It could be [her].

“Or Dua Lipa could also be [my crush].”
