A mini-golf course designed by Tiger Woods may be coming to Central Texas soon. Popstroke is eyeing a bustling piece of land in Cedar Park, a suburb north of Austin, in its latest plans for expansion into Texas.
The Florida-based company presented plans to the Cedar Park City Council last week during a meeting to build a 14,000-square-foot restaurant, bar and two 18-hole synthetic turf miniature golf courses, according to Austin Business Journal reporting. Popstroke is seeking a 3-acre special use permit for the development, which the city’s council will vote on at a later date.
The news comes as Popstroke announced in spring 2023 that the company would be expanding its putt and entertainment footprint into several Texas cities, including San Antonio. A state filing in June revealed its first Alamo City location would be coming to the Northside near Shavano Park.
The company allegedly wants Popstroke Cedar Park to be located in the 38-acre mixed-use Cross Creek Market at 817 C-Bar Ranch Trail, which is being developed by Austin-based Cordova Real Estate Ventures. ABJ reports that a person who represented the developer during the city council meeting said the project would create hundreds of local jobs during the planning, construction and operational phases. The representative also estimated construction will take about eight to 10 months to complete once the necessary approvals are secured.
