The big secret of the ATP Tour was revealed in February, when ‘The Tour: A Reality Show’ provided a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the tennis season. But even more details about the scripted drama were spilled in the outtakes that have since been released.
“So me and [Jamie Murray] are actually brothers,” Andy Murray (real name: Fraser McKnight) deadpanned to the cameras. “But the woman who plays our mother, she’s an actor — but not a very good one.”
Staying in character, Judy Murray stood up for the actress who plays her: “Disappointed with this,” she wrote on Instagram. “I thought her performances were worthy of an Oscar nomination.”
That wasn’t all we learned about the fictional Murray family. Fraser McKnight, who plays Andy, revealed the complicated situation that resulted from he and his brother’s competing acting aspirations.
“Me and Jamie both auditioned for the part of Andy, which has been a little bit awkward,” he said.
