Tiger Woods

With a disappointing Masters performance now behind him, it looks as though Tiger Woods is already looking to the future after teasing a massive announcement.
The 48-year-old confirmed that he is in talks to take over a prestigious role – that of USA Ryder Cup skipper.

Tiger Woods was tipped to get the job for 2027 in Ireland – thanks in part to his friendship with the Adare Manor golf-course owner and ex-Manchester United majority shareholder JP McManus.

However, it appears he could be given the job as soon as 2025 – a whole two years earlier than expected. As a result, he is expected to lead his country at Bethpage Back on Long Island, New York in September of next year.

Tiger Woods has even hinted that an announcement could be coming in the near future.
“We’re still talking about it,” he said when asked about the matter at Augusta, noting that he will continue talks with the PGA of America’s CEO Steve Waugh.

“It’s something that Seth and I are going to sit back and talk about after this event.”

Tiger Woods coming off disappointing Masters
The news will come as a boost to Woods, who is coming off a poor performance at the Masters. Although he set a record by making the cut at August for the 24th time in a row, he then went on to finish last of the remaining players with a score of 16-over par.

Tiger Woods finished with an aggregate total of 304 – his highest ever over 26 appearances at the Masters. It was also worse than the 301 he finished with at the 2022 event.
