After a year filled with the lows of injury setbacks and poor form, Emma Raducanu is back to smiling again. It looks like she has rediscovered her old touch after putting on a sumptuous performance at the recently concluded Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers. Her team, Great Britain, was up for a daunting task against France for a place in the tournament’s finals. However, Raducanu made it look easy and as a result, she received a massive honor recently for her heroics.

Although having an inconsistent start to the season, Raducanu is slowly getting back to the form she showed while winning the US Open in 2021. Owing to her recent victories, Raducanu was named LTA’s women’s singles player of the month for April, defeating the likes of Mika Stojsavljevic and Katie Boulter, who were also in the fray to claim the honor. This award is the perfect testimonial to the efforts Raducanu has put in to get her career back on track. Raducanu won both her matches at the multi-national event, defeating Caroline Garcia and Diane Parry.

Not only did she shine at the Billie Jean King Cup but also at the Stuttgart Open. The British tennis sensation reached the quarterfinals of the tournament there, before losing out to World Number 1, Iga Swiatek. Raducanu was voted on exclusively by Advantage members and they awarded her with this massive honor.

Recently, Raducanu has been quite vocal about the setbacks she’s faced in her career. The previous season was one of the worst years in her career, and Raducanu made a candid revelation about it.

Emma Raducanu and her tryst with injuries
Earlier this year, the 21-year-old participated in the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships. During the tournament, she opened up about her comeback and how she coped with injuries.

Raducanu mentioned, “I’ve never really had the chance to do proper training weeks back-to-back. For six or seven months, before I ended up having the surgeries, I was only practicing one or two hours a day just to limit the load on the wrists.”

Despite growing injury concerns, Raducanu didn’t give up on her training, even if it meant cutting down on her practice time. This truly suggests how dedicated she is to the sport, which will go a long way in making her a successful tennis star. Raducanu will next be seen in action at the French Open after missing the ongoing Italian Open. She is exhausted from her hectic schedule and decided to skip the tournament in Rome.
