Coco Gauff aims for Olympic glory, deeming it equal to Grand Slam success, prioritizing preparation for French Open.
Coco Gauff, the 20-year-old American tennis sensation, is setting her sights on Olympic success in Paris, viewing it as on par with winning a Grand Slam title. Gauff’s ambition was fueled by her disappointment at missing out on the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 due to testing positive for Covid-19.

Expressing her eagerness for the upcoming Games, Gauff emphasized its importance, stating, “For me, the Olympics is a top priority. I’d say equal to the grand slams.” Despite her lack of Olympic experience, Gauff views the event as a significant opportunity to showcase her talent on a global stage.

Currently ranked no.3 (career-high), the American has a composed 22-7 record in 2024. Gauff is currently having a run in Rome where she managed to beat the world no.55 Magdalena Frech 6-3 6-3.

Coco Gauff will come up against the world no.68 Jaqueline Cristian in the 3rd round on Saturday at 7:00 pm on CENTER COURT. They have never competed against each other so far on the main tour.

Gauff has won 1 title in 2024 in Auckland.
