Simone Biles, one of the most decorated athletes in the history of United States gymnastics, has one goal in mind as she heads to Paris for the Summer Olympic Games this month: snagging an eighth medal to set a new record for a U.S.-born gymnast. One more gold medal will see her become one of only six female gymnasts to win gold at least five times at the Olympic Games.
Biles will arrive in Paris with a strong support system cheering her on. Her husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, never fails to disappoint with sweeping romantic gestures — and his latest move makes it even clearer that this couple’s love is as pure as it gets.
A surprising new tattoo
Biles on Saturday revealed that Owens got a new tattoo in her honor. The gymnast took to Instagram and uploaded a photo to the platform’s Stories which showed Owens’ left ring finger now sporting an “S” for Simone.
The photo was accompanied by two “shocked” emojis, two red heart emojis, and two “fingers crossed” emojis, reflecting how much the gesture meant to Biles.

The fresh ink is merely the latest declaration of Owens’ devotion toward Biles since the pair married in 2023. Owens recently gifted a $46,000 watch to Biles, putting a portion of his NFL salary with the Bears to good use.
The Bears recently granted Owens some time away from the team to cheer on Biles for a couple days as she prepares for Paris. Gymnastics events begin July 28, and Biles will be going for history — knowing that her biggest fan will be watching.
