Kate Middleton always managed to keep her cool and ‘never rose’ to the rude three-word insult hurled at her by her husband Prince William’s university friends
Kate Middleton has had to deal with a lot over the years, but she never once got angry when her husband’s friends gave her a cruel nickname.
The Prince and Princess of Wales met while at university and Kate had to endure a lot of teasing from William’s “snooty” pals. She would often find herself being made fun of because of her mother Carole Middleton’s past job as a flight attendant.
According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, William’s friends would say: “Doors to Manual,” in reference to Kate. However, Nicholl said Kate would always rise above the cruel taunts.
“To her full credit, Kate never rose to it – the snootiness of the upper classes leveled at what they called the en-masse Middletons,” Nicholl said during an appearance on the Vanity Fair Dynasty podcast.
One royal aide admitted the nickname did hurt Kate, but said she wasn’t one to let it show. Speaking to the Sunday Times Magazine, they explained: “It was never water off a duck’s back, but she has extraordinary strength of character and resilience.
“I’ve never once seen or heard of her losing her temper.” Kate and William managed to overcome his friend’s mockery and went on to get married in 2011 before welcoming three children together – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Kate is set to join her family in Balmoral for a summer holiday with other members of the Royal Family. The vacation comes as Kate is continuing her cancer treatment.
William and Kate are expected to join King Charles and Queen Camilla at Balmoral this summer. The monarch regularly invites his family to the Scottish castle during the summer months to relax.
According to the Daily Mail, Kate will soon be joining the Royal Family in Balmoral, a trip which will mark her longest journey since her cancer diagnosis.
