Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will play doubles against each other during the US Open fan week.
The epic rivalry of Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will be seen on a lighter note before the start of the US Open 2024. Djokovic and Alcaraz will be joined by legends, Andre Agassi and John McEnroe on the court. Djokovic will play alongside McEnroe while Alcaraz will team up with Agassi, as it will be a clash of generations at the US Open.
The match will take place on August 21 as the fans can watch the stars play against each other. A portion of the funds from the ticket sales will be donated to the foundation under United States Tennis Association (USTA).
Djokovic had recently defeated Alcaraz at the final of Paris Olympics 2024. The win saw him completing the Career Golden Slam, as it was the last puzzle remaining in his trophy cabinet. The Serbian is also looking to win his first Grand Slam of the season.
The fans could also watch Djokovic and Alcaraz during the US Open. The arch-rivals are yet to play a match against each other at Flushing Meadows. They have also not faced each other at the Australian Open. Alcaraz and Djokovic have played at Wimbledon and the French Open.
There will be more exciting matches featuring the stars from the past. The US Open fan week will begin from August 19 and will go on till August 25. Before the intense matches begin, the courts will witness lighthearted rallies alongside entertainment between players.
The fourth Grand Slam of the season had the fireworks last season, which included Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek playing football on the courts. This time the fan week will begin with Sounds of the Open, which will be a live concert at Louis Armstrong Stadium. Dierks Bentley will be leading the concert with special guest Chase Rice.
There will be more players joining the exhibition matches such as Venus Williams, Jessica Pegula, Frances Tiafoe, Caroline Wozniacki, Gabriela Sabatini and Andy Roddick. The participants list will be confirmed during the start of the fan week. With only few days to go, the final Grand Slam of the year is expected to produce thrilling encounters on the courts.
