CARLOS Alcaraz is officially the highest-paid tennis star in the world, new figures have revealed.

The Murcia-born ace, 21, is way above his rivals in terms of income, including Serbian World No.1 Novak Djokovic.

According to Forbes magazine, Alcaraz is currently making $42.3m (€39.2m) per year.

While a sizable chunk comes from his winnings – around $10.3m (€9.4m) – the majority of his earnings are from endorsements.

The Wimbledon champion is making almost $32m (€28.7m) from his multiple brand deals – which include global sports brand Nike and national Spanish Jamon producer El Pozo.

The much-loved player is a hit with tennis fans around the world and is proving hot property with advertisers.

It comes after a stellar year which saw him clinch both the Wimbledon and the French Open titles, before securing a silver medal at his first ever Olympics in Paris.

Meanwhile Djokovic, the so-called GOAT of tennis (Greatest Of All Time), is the second-highest earning player, coming in at $37.2m (€34m).

He is followed by rising US women’s star Coco Guaff, at $27.1m and Poland’s Iga Swiatek on $26.7m.

Rounding out the top five is Italy’s male star Jannik Sinner, who is earning around $26.6m per year.

It remains to be seen how the recent doping scandal will affect his income over the coming months.
