The Scottish icon is adjusting to life in retirement but is fed-up of watch the best players suffer late at night.
Unimpressed Andy Murray has let rip at the persistent post midnight finishes at the US Open which he has branded a complete mess.
The Scottish icon is adjusting to life in retirement but is fed-up of watch the best players in the world battling it out in the wee hours of the morning – despite a policy at Flushing Meadows trying to halt late night finishes. Murray knows better than most about burning the midnight oil after his all-time classic vs Thanasi Kokkinakis which finished at 4.15am. And the three-time grand slam champion wants players to receive more protection from the schedule makers.
A peeved, Murray, known for refusing to pull his punches as he unloads. Posting on X, the 37-year-old: “The tennis scheduling situation is a total mess. It looks so amateurish having matches going on at 2,3 4am. Sort it out US Open, Australian Open, Wimbleon, ATP Tour. WTA.”
