Kate Middleton and Prince William united yesterday for the Princess of Wales’s first public engagement since Christmas. The couple went to the town of Southport to comfort the victim’s grieving family members.

Prince Wiliam And Kate Middleton Called First Responders “True Heroes”
William promised the community a visit, and Kate joining him was a recent development. The Princess wanted to show them compassion and give her support after the horrible tragedies that occurred in Southport in July when three children were stabbed to death and eight others were injured at a dance studio during a Taylor Swift-themed class.

Prince William and Kate Middleton met with the families of little Alice Dasilva Aguiar, Elsie Dot Stancombe, and Bebe King. At the time of the incident, Kate wrote a personal message of shock and sadness for those who were affected:

“As parents, we cannot begin to imagine what the families, friends, and loved ones of those killed and injured in Southport today are going through. We send our love, thoughts, and prayers to all those involved in this horrid and heinous attack. Thank you to the emergency responders who, despite being met with the most horrific scenes, demonstrated compassion and professionalism when your community needed you the most.”

This visit was also Kate’s first public engagement since she was finished with her chemotherapy, as she announced her cancer diagnosis in March.

William and Kate also spent time with the dance teacher, Leanne Lucas, who was seriously injured trying to protect the kids from the psycho who committed this disturbing crime.

The Princess Of Wales Gave Out Hugs

After their visit, Prince William and Kate Middleton wrote another post, saying,

“Meeting the community today has been a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting one another in the wake of unimaginable tragedy. You will remain in our thoughts and prayers.”

The visit was kept under wraps, as the Prince and Princess of Wales wanted the visit to remain private. William urged the first responders and personnel they met who were present that day that it was important for them to take their time getting back to work, talk about the experience, and give their superiors a hard time if they pushed them to return.

The Chief Fire Official for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, Phil Garrigan, said that William and Kate were wonderful and caring people.

After the initial meeting, the Princess returned to the building to hug everyone warmly. She could see how emotional they were and how difficult it was for them to talk about their feelings and the events that had taken place.

They felt it was important to meet with these families and first responders. They let them know they hadn’t forgotten them and would continue to support them.

William and Kate’s Royal Foundation donated to the National Police and Wellbeing Service’s fundraiser. This will help with the physical and mental assistance of police and ambulance personnel involved in the incident. The Prince and Princess made a lasting impression on everyone they met, and their heartfelt kindness was appreciated.
