A video of Princess Kate saying it was “a daunting prospect” to become a royal, has gone viral after it resurfaced on TikTok.
Kate and William were asked questions by reporters during their engagement announcement at St James’ Palace, on November 16, 2010.
The princess was asked: “As William’s wife you’re going to be a member of the royal family. How do you feel about that?”
As cameras went off around her, Kate said: “It’s quite a daunting prospect but hopefully I’ll take it in my stride, and William’s a great teacher so hopefully he’ll be able to help me along the way. I’m really looking forward to spending my time with William.”
The prince replied: “She’s very good at flattery.”
The clip was liked almost 15,000 times and viewed 112,000 times after it was posted with the message: “The next Queen of the United Kingdom.”
The snippet from their engagement announcement was followed by a clip of Kate curtsying alongside Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Queen Camilla at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
Other moments posted on the TikTok account include Kate watching crowds from the window during a carriage procession at King Charles III’s Coronation in May 2023 and the princess waving from the balcony of Buckingham Palace after her wedding in April 2011.
There is also footage of her dressed in an ‘Eliza Doolittle’ inspired outfit during Trooping the Colour, in June, her first public appearance after her cancer diagnosis, and at Wimbledon in July, her second.
One reply read “she didn’t just learned how to be a princess, she NAILED it,” while another read: “Catherine, The Princess of Wales is extraordinary. She truly was born for this role. Princess Diana would have adored her.”
Kate’s royal journey was derailed in 2024 after her abdominal surgery in January led to a diagnosis of cancer and chemotherapy.
However, she has been slowly returning to her work engagements one stage at a time, beginning with Trooping in June.
More recently, she visited Southport, just north of Liverpool, U.K. to meet families of three schoolgirls killed in a knife attack.
She is expected to attend to Britain’s Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph, in London, in November, and the televised Together at Christmas annual carol service in December, at London’s Westminster Abbey.
