Prince William has been opening up more and more about his three children in recent weeks – and it appears the heir to the throne has a special parenting mantra he likes to stick to
Prince William and Kate Middleton are known for their thoughtful approach to parenting, often sharing insights into their family life during public engagements. They’ve discussed everything from favourite bedtime stories to screen-time rules, giving the public a glimpse into their parenting philosophy.
However, it seems Prince William has an additional parenting tip, as he recently disclosed his personal mantra regarding his three children.
While attending a community event in London on October 15, hosted by the NFL Foundation UK, the Prince of Wales, aged 42, received an American Football as a token of appreciation for his visit. This gesture led him to share a playful comment about a “crucial motto” he follows as a parent.
In a video posted by The Independent, Prince William expressed his gratitude: “Oh, that’s very kind. Never go home empty handed! That’s a crucial motto of being a parent,” he remarked.
He then added with a hint of humour, “That’s really kind of you. Thank you very much. We’ll do some practice together,” and joked, “See how many windows I can smash! “, reports the Mirror.
Prince William has been sharing amusing anecdotes about life with his three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. This comes as his wife, Kate Middleton, 42, has spent most of the year privately recovering from cancer, leaving William to take on public engagements where he’s received numerous small gifts and sweet messages of support.
In his interactions with the public, William has revealed tidbits about his children’s current interests, including Princess Charlotte’s passion for “dancing and performing” and how all three children enjoy a good “wrestle over the remote” when deciding who gets to control the television!
Despite a challenging year for the Royal family, there was a ray of hope last month when Kate announced she had successfully completed her chemotherapy treatment in a heartwarming video featuring her husband and children.
The strength of their family bond is evident, even amidst the trials of the past year. A palace insider previously disclosed that George, Charlotte, and Louis all appear “pretty happy with life.”
“Those children look pretty happy with life,” a palace insider previously told PEOPLE about the Wales kids. “A lot of it is the stabilising normality Kate brings – and that’s how she grew up. William absolutely loves it.”
