Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly bought a holiday home in Portugal, just over two hours flight from the UK.

Prince Harry and Meghan are reportedly expanding their property portfolio with a new acquisition in Portugal. The couple’s so-called holiday home places them among other royals who have found allure in the popular destination, according to the Daily Mail

Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank are regulars at their CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club residence in Melides, where they retreat with their two children. Whether this influenced the Sussexes’ purchase remains unknown.

This development follows reports of Harry and Meghan’s ‘romantic three-night break’ in Portugal post-Invictus Games in Germany last year. They reportedly flew from Dusseldorf to Lisbon and then journeyed to Melides in what was described as a “mega-secret” operation, sans their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

A source close to the Sussexes confirmed their visit to Portugal at the time. Speculation suggests they might have stayed with Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank, who have previously visited the Sussexes in Montecito, California.

Since relocating to their Californian mansion in 2020 after stepping down as senior royals, Harry and Meghan have offered glimpses into their life through their Netflix docuseries ‘Harry and Meghan’, which aired in 2022, reports the Express.

The couple are thought to spend the majority of their time on school runs, dog walks and beach trips. Neighbours have previously mentioned that they seldom see the pair.
