Coco Gauff seemed elated as she reached the venue of the 2024 WTA Finals in Riyadh, which is set to be her last tournament for the season. The American gave fans a tour of her spacious locker room amid her on-court preparations.

The 2024 WTA Finals have shifted to a new location this season—the King Saud University in Riyadh. The inaugural edition in the capital city is set to feature Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Jasmine Paolini, Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula, Zheng Qinwen, and Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova.

Swiatek, Gauff, Rybakina, and Paolini have already kicked off their practice session at the venue ahead of the highly anticipated competition. Gauff recently shared a clip on social media showing off her personal locker room, designed to celebrate the one-time Grand Slam champion. Among the many amenities were a couch, a mirror, a TV screen, and two restrooms. Her mother, Candi, too seemed to appear in the clip.

“My locker room for the last tournament of the year @wtafinalsriyadh,” Coco Gauff delightedly wrote on Instagram, adding a heart-eyed emoji.

Coco Gauff is gearing up for her third consecutive WTA Finals appearance.

The American, who kicked off her 2024 campaign with a title defense at the WTA 250 in Auckland, struggled with her form in the months that followed. She, however, staged a notable comeback during the recent Asian Swing, winning her second WTA 1000 title in Beijing and reaching the semifinals in Wuhan. Her results assured her a berth at the year-end championships.

In her press conference in Beijing, Gauff emphasized the importance of qualifying for the event for the third year running.

“I’m looking forward to playing the WTA Finals again. I think this is my third year in a row. Yeah, I’m pretty proud of that,” she said, adding, “It’s hard each year to make it.

Especially with the depth of the women’s game now, I think it’s even harder. I’m really honored to make it.”

Coco Gauff, who made a round-robin exit during her maiden stint in 2022, reached the semifinals at last year’s event. She would hope to make a deeper run this time.

The 20-year-old is placed in the Orange Group, which includes Iga Swiatek, Jessica Pegula, and Barbora Krejcikova. Meanwhile, the Purple Group features Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Jasmine Paolini, and Zheng Qinwen.
