Tiger Woods, alongside fellow golf director Adam Scott and PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan, visited the White House for talks with Donald Trump aimed at bridging the divide that has plagued golf in recent years, reports The Guardian.

The rift in the sport emerged in 2022 when Saudi Arabia launched the LIV Golf series. With lucrative financial offers and massive prize funds, the breakaway tour lured several PGA Tour stars, including Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, and Phil Mickelson.

In 2023, both sides reached an agreement to form an alliance, bringing an end to legal disputes. However, concerns over the deal remain in Washington, where lawmakers have criticized Saudi Arabia’s human rights record.

“I think things are going to heal quickly. We’re going to get this game going in the right direction. It has been headed in the wrong direction for a number of years. The fans want all the top players playing together and we’re going to make that happen,” Woods said following the meeting with Trump.
