The Wales family is reportedly getting a little bigger. Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly added to their brood with several new royal fur babies—and according to sources, the couple’s three kids are big fans of their newest family additions.
Kate and William’s beloved black cocker spaniel Orla has given birth to several healthy puppies a few weeks ago, bringing two new faces to the Wales family fold, The Sun reports. A source told the publication that both the family’s beloved dog and her babies are “doing well,” and Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are hoping to keep the puppies. “Everyone loves a new royal baby news and so new royal puppies run very close,” the source explained.
Orla—whom Kate received from her brother James Middleton back in 2020 shortly before losing her dog Lupo— has made several cameos on the royal family’s social media accounts, including starring alongside Princess Charlotte in her seventh birthday portrait as well as in Middleton’s video last September announcing she had completed chemotherapy.
Buckingham Palace has yet to confirm the news of the royal puppies, but Kate and William previously sparked speculation that they’d welcomed a new fur baby in April when fans caught a glimpse of two dogs in the couple’s PDA-packed nature video for U.K. Mother’s Day. In the clip, Orla—whose name means “golden princess” in Celtic—could be seen trailed by a dark brown dog as they walked behind Prince William.
While sources guessed that the new addition was likely one of James Middleton’s many dogs, it sounds like Orla will now be sharing the royal bed with her two new adorable additions—Prince William previously told fans that Orla sleeps in bed with him and Kate at nights. The Wales family aren’t the only royals to welcome new dogs, as King Charles and Queen Camilla announced they’d an adopted an eight-week-old rescue puppy named Moley in February.
