Meghan Markle’s life-changing decision leaves lasting impact in Palace
Duchess of Sussex choices continues to influence royal family despite growing family rift
Meghan Markle’s move seemed to have left a lasting change at the Kensington Palace as Queen Camilla takes inspiration from the Duchess of Sussex.
Right before the Suits actress was married to Prince Harry, Meghan made an order at Kensington Palace which continues to have an influence on the royal family despite the ongoing feud.
A British designer revealed that Meghan’s choice made a significant impact in her life during a time when she was facing health challenges while trying to establish her brand.
Charlotte Elizabeth, who is now 30, was diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia at age 15. She later developed POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) and chronic fatigue syndrome, which at its worst left her bedridden and requiring full-time care from her family.
The young designer received a loan from the Prince’s Trust – which is now renamed to the King’s Trust by King Charles, to produce her first 40 handbags using Scottish leather and British manufacturing.

She revealed that her breakthrough came when Meghan’s PA contacted her in 2018 and then the Duchess of Sussex made an appearance carrying the designer ‘Original Bloomsbury’ bag during a surprise appearance in Belfast with Prince Harry.
“I walked up to Kensington Palace with a handbag. It was just before she married Prince Harry,” Elizabeth told GB News. “And overnight, I was able to hire six different people, and the orders were just insane.”
The designer revealed that members of the royal family, Queen Camilla and Zara Tindall, continue to use her brand following Meghan’s order.
“Queen Camilla is wearing it, so it’s really amazing, and she’s worn it now over like 10 times,” she said. “It feels rather surreal, to be honest. I sort of see it on the news and stuff. And I think that’s just weird, because I’ve sent that bag out from my little cottage and gone up the post office.”
