Temple University hosts grand opening celebration for newly renovated Paley Hall thanks to grant from alum Christopher Bennett

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Temple University hosted a grand opening celebration for its newly renovated Paley Hall.

The hall is now the permanent home of the College of Public Health.

This grand opening marks the culmination of more than two years of construction.

It’s all thanks to a record donation by Temple Alum Christopher Barnett.

The healthcare business leader donated $55 million to the College of Public Health.

The gift represents a full-circle moment for Barnett.

When he first applied to Temple several years ago, he was denied admission. But he pleaded his case, promised to graduate with a 4.0 GPA and pledged to give back to the University.
