WASHINGTON (TNND) — The Department of Homeland Security announced Friday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested an illegal migrant who had “No Name Given” on his New York drivers license.
The migrant, Anmol Anmol, was encountered by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol on the highway for a routine inspection.
ICE got involved and it was revealed he was in the U.S. illegally from India. The state of New York issued him a license that read, “No Name Given Anmol.”
The DHS said he entered the U.S. illegally in 2023.
“Allowing illegal aliens to obtain commercial driver’s licenses to operate 18-wheelers and transport hazardous materials on America’s roads is reckless and incredibly dangerous to public safety,” DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.
“Thanks to the successful 287g partnership of ICE and Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Anmol Anmol is no longer posing a threat to drivers,” the statement continued.
She went on to criticize the state of New York for issuing Anmol a license.
“New York is not only failing to check if applicants applying to drive 18-wheelers are U.S. citizens but even failing to obtain the full legal names of individuals they are issuing commercial drivers’ licenses to,” she said. “DHS is working with our state and local partners to get illegal alien truck drivers who often don’t know basic traffic laws off our highways.”
One of the Trump administration’s top priorities has been mass deportations and cracking down on illegal immigration.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, two million illegal immigrants have self-deported.
The DHS said in September that the U.S. is on track to deport almost 600,000 illegal migrants by the end of Trump’s first year in office.
