WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Get your tickets ready, you could be a millionaire.
The Florida Lottery said for just the 11th time in Mega Millions history, the jackpot has surged to a staggering $600 million, with a cash option of $277.2 million, setting the stage for a thrilling drawing on Tuesday night.
The excitement is palpable following Friday night’s drawing, where no ticket matched all six winning numbers: 3, 18, 23, 32, 56, and the Mega Ball 8.
Mega Millions has a storied history of massive payouts, including seven jackpots exceeding $1 billion, won in states like South Carolina, Michigan, Illinois, Maine, Florida, New Jersey, and California. The current record stands at $1.602 billion, won in Florida on August 8, 2023.
Tickets are sold in 45 states, plus Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands, at $5 each, which includes a randomly assigned multiplier, according to officials.
