PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — Amongst a select 28 parks in Philadelphia, you can find a group of people getting their steps in and making new memories.
It’s part of Fairmount Park Conservancy’s “We Walk PHL” program.
“It’s really an opportunity for people to connect socially, especially in a time of rising social isolation…put the phones down, be outside,” said Chief of Staff at Fairmount Park Conservancy, Kevin Roche.
” We focus heavily on inclusiveness… and just being able to have our shoulders drop and roll back for a little bit…it’s nice to be able to come out and watch the trees, the leaves blowing in the wind,” said Education & Engagement Specialist at Fairmount Park Conservancy, Nicole Seahorne Hameen.
They will hold programs in the Fall season until October 31st.
“We do a lot of offseason stuff. We do a winter wellness series and then we kick back off in the spring,” said Roche.
