A large number of royal fans turned up to catch a glimpse of the monarch.
Buckingham Palace released details of King Charles’s engagements he undertook in Scotland on Friday.
According to a statement, the monarch visited Dingwall, in the Scottish Highlands, as the town celebrated 800 years since it was granted Royal Burgh status.
“His Majesty met volunteers, community groups, young people and emergency service representatives who embody the creative and community spirit of the town,” the statement said.
It added, “The King presented the King’s Award for Voluntary Service to representatives of Evanton Wood Community Company, and Highland and Island Blood Bikes, in recognition of their support for the community.”
“His Majesty also heard performances from local music groups and Highland Dancers,” the palace said in the statement.
Buckingham Palace also said “Thank you to everyone who came to say hello!” on behalf of the monarch.
