However, the situation has now completely changed, as Spencer’s serious claims about King Charles and Queen Elizabeth II have also drawn a response from the Palace.
If the two royal brothers continue their relationship with their uncle, it would appear to support his narrative and would surely hurt their father.
William and Harry have so far been reluctant to get involved in the dispute between their two relatives, but they will soon have to decide where they stand, as the upcoming book is set to bring more stories to light.
In their recent appearances, the two royals — who are already at loggerheads — felt the heat, but have stayed out of the situation entirely.
Weiging in on the allegations, Griffths told GB News: “We’ve heard that the King is now incandescent, apparently, according to sources. Obviously we know what he feels from his statement, which was very, very forceful, totally unprecedented.
“And what we were all calling it is recollections may vary 2.0, but I think it was much stronger than recollections may vary 1.0, because the accusations being levelled at him by Earl Spencer are just out of control.”
