While the couple and their children were not photographed at the event, it’s reported they took part in a number of activities at the festival.

The Prince and Princess of Wales proved they are just like any other parents at the weekend as they took their children for a day at an adventure festival.

Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly attended Gone Wild Festival at Holkham Hall, Norfolk earlier this month, bringing along Prince George, 11, Princes Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis for the festivities.

The festival, which is organised by Bear Grylls, offers families the chance to try a host of outdoor activities, including kayaking, climbing walls, quad biking and shelter building. According to the event’s official website, families can ‘test their mettle with firewalking’, ‘perfect their circus skills’, or ‘conquer the high ropes course’.

According to their fellow festival goers, the family of five took part in a Nerf gun battle, where they ran around and played stuck in the mud together. Norfolk Nerf Parties boss Georgina Barron took to Facebook shortly after the event, writing, ‘We were working at the Gone Wild festival at Holkham Hall when I was called to the production team’s office and told that a very special VIP family had requested to play Nerf wars.

‘The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their three children, arrived with friends and family. They asked if we could provide a high-intensity, non-stop game of Nerf fun.’

Barron went on to explain that her own children had gotten involved with George, Charlotte and Louis, adding, ‘We all ran around with Nerf guns and smoke bombs. The whole experience was unforgettable. They requested no protocol as the family just wanted a wholesome family day like any other family.’

The Prince and Princess of Wales have known Bear Grylls for a number of years, and are spending the summer at their home of Anmer Hall, which is not far from Holkham Hall in Norfolk.

In recent months, Kate Middleton has been re-entering public life while she continues to undergo chemotherapy treatment. Alongside a stunning return to royal engagements at Trooping the Colour, the Princess lit up Centre Court during an appearance at the Wimbledon gentlemen’s final. According to insiders, though, the Princes of Wales’ cancer diagnosis has led to a shift in priorities. Sources told The Daily Beast that Kate will ‘continue to maintain a much lower profile than before, with less frequent public engagements even after her expected full recovery.’
