The two-time Olympic tennis champion in singles is eyeing the doubles event for Paris 2024, too.
Team GB veteran Andy Murray is set to play the French Open in doubles, according to theipaper, should the 36-year-old be fit and healthy for the 26 May start date.
Stade Roland-Garros, where the French is held, is set to host the coming Olympic tennis event, too. Murray is said to be teaming up with Dan Evans for the second major of the year, though the plan is for him to play with doubles world No.6 Joe Salisbury for the Games.
Andy Murray told The Times in March: “I won’t go to the Olympics unless I can win a medal,” and that chance could be higher in doubles than singles, with his singles ranking currently sitting at world No.57.
Andy Murray continues to rehab from an ankle injury scare in Miami in March.
The London 2012 and Rio 2016 singles champ remains the only tennis player to win back-to-back singles titles at the Olympics. He and Salisbury teamed up for doubles at Tokyo 2020 in 2021, too, making it to the quarter-finals.
