The Scot published an important video on his social networks, in which he showed that he has returned to practicing on the court
Excellent news came from the social accounts of former ATP No.1 Andy Murray.
This is a video published that sees the Scottish champion on the court practicing, especially with his forehand. Great news, after the serious ankle injury that seemed to have definitively put an end to his career.
It’s easy to think that Andy Murray will decide to skip the entire clay season so as not to force his recovery time and try to give himself one last great adventure on grass, in particular on the lawns of the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

Already a few days ago, Andy Murray’s entourage had released important updates on their player’s condition.
“He is doing well and hopes to start hitting the ball on the court soon, but there is no firm date yet for his return to competition,” they said.
The Scot sprained his ankle late in his match against Tomas Machac at the ATP Masters 1000 in Miami. A match then lost in the tie-break of the third and decisive set. Murray carried out all the necessary instrumental tests and reported a total rupture of the talofibular ligament and a lesion of the calcaneofibular ligament.

A rather serious injury which however did not force him to undergo another surgical operation. Murray had joked on Instagram referring to the numerous physical problems he has had to deal with throughout his career and wrote: “When the time comes I will be back, even with a hip and without any ligaments in my ankle!”
Andy Murray on his retirement
Andy Murray, at the end of the match lost against Thomas Machac, had made interesting statements on his possible future retirement from tennis.
“Miami has been a special place throughout my career, it’s really been like a second home because I’ve spent a lot of time training here and I love this city. But I wasn’t thinking about all the games. It was a particularly important tournament for me, so today it was emotional to leave the court as it presumably will be in other events I’ve played here, but only that it was the last one and I would have liked to make it last a little longer. I can’t wait for the end now, I’ll give my all in the next few months and then I’ll go home to my family.”
However, the three-time slam champion is proud of the level he is having in recent weeks. A performance and continuity that he had been missing for a while:
“It’s a good thing, I’ve shown signs of growth in my game and improvements highlighted in the last few tournaments. It’s not perfection yet, but considering how successful I was, managing to win some games against these opponents and pushing Thomas to the limit today is something that makes me proud because being able to do what I did after what I went through is really difficult,” he explained.
Once the extent of his ankle injury was discovered, Murray said: “Yesterday, towards the end of my match in Miami, I suffered a total rupture of the fibula-talar ligament and a tear of the calcaneofibular ligament. I will see an ankle specialist when I will return home to determine next steps.
It’s a hard thing to accept obviously and I’ll be out for a long time. But I’ll come back with one hip and no ligaments when the time comes.”
Martina Navratilova, speaking about Murray’s injury, analyzed speaking with Sky Sport: “I have already sprained my ankle in the past, but I have never torn a ligament. It will take time. Time is not on his side. It’s not a good sign. I don’t know how you can recover well enough to feel stable and not hurt other parts of your body. It’s a tragedy and he’s been through a lot. I wish him the best, but things aren’t going well.”
