“It has been a great relief that she is tolerating the medication and is actually doing a lot better,” a family friend tells Vanity Fair of the royal, who is undergoing a course of preventative chemotherapy.

The Princess of Wales’ celebrated style has been praised by fans in a new viral video, as footage from a royal engagement with Prince William in 2011 has resurfaced on TikTok.

William and Kate Middleton will celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary this year, having married at Westminster Abbey in London on April 29, 2011. The couple have recently faced an increase in public attention, after it was announced from Kensington Palace that the princess had undergone planned abdominal surgery on January 16 and would be absent from public appearances until after Easter while she recuperates.

Over her years in the royal spotlight, Kate Middleton has become one of the most-influential fashion figures in the world; her estimated value to the U.K. fashion industry is over $1 billion.

On November 10, 2011, Kate and William attended a dinner reception in aid of the National Memorial Arboretum Appeal at St. James’s Palace. William was the appeal’s patron, and the reception raised funds for the memorial. It serves as a center for remembrance for families of servicemen and women who lost their lives in the line of duty.

For the event, the newly married duchess of Cambridge (as she was then known) made a dazzling appearance in a grey silk asymmetric evening gown designed by Jenny Packham, one of Kate’s most-trusted fashion collaborators.

With the dress, the royal wore a pair of glittering diamond earrings and a vivid red poppy pin, an international symbol of remembrance.

Captioned “gala,” the video of Kate at the event has received more than 7,200 likes and over 185 comments, many of which have praised the princess and her appearance.

“The true meaning of the word.. STUNNING,” wrote one user.

“Beautiful, born to be a princess,” posted another, with a further comment reading: “This was just ultimate glamor. I love the one shoulder look on her. And always looks good in diamonds.”

Kate’s last public appearance to date was made on Christmas Day, where she took part in the traditional royal walkabout on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, eastern England, after a visit to St. Mary Magdalene Church.
Following her surgery on January 16 in London, the princess was discharged from The London Clinic on January 29, where she was said to be “making good progress” ahead of her return to the Waleses’ family home in Windsor.
