Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 4 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells Masters by beating Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 13 seed, 6-4, 6-4 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Wednesday night.
The victory sees Medvedev extend his head-to-head against Dimitrov to 7-3, with the Bulgarian becoming the fifth opponent that he has faced 10 or more times across his career.
Daniil Medvedev also improves his record in 2024 to 12-2, with both of his losses coming to top 20 players (Jannik Sinner and Ugo Humbert). By making the Indian Wells quarter-final, he has now made 15 hard-court Masters 1000-level quarter-finals, the most out of any player since he first reached this level in 2019.

The Russian won against Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (6-2, 6-3) and American Sebastian Korda, the No 29 seed (6-4, 5-7, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Indian Wells Tennis Masters.
Earlier in the tournament, Dimitrov, ranked No 13, won against Frenchman Alexandre Muller (7-5, 6-2) and Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the No 21 seed (6-3, 6-3).
