Fans disagreed with Toni Nadal’s claim that his nephew, Rafael Nadal, would have been the best without injuries, while he acknowledged Novak Djokovic as the best in the current circumstances.
In an interview with Euro News, Toni mentioned that Djokovic has won more titles than any other player which makes him the best. However, he also stated with a laugh:
“Who could be the best without injuries? My nephew.”

Many fans disagreed with Toni’s comments and slammed him for being ‘bitter’.
“Bro doesn’t know or understand that Djokovic would be on 30+ slams himself if we add ifs. Bitter family,” one fan wrote.

“Nadal family should consider doing salt business. They will be very good at it,” another fan wrote.
“They can’t admit that Djokovic is the best without saying that it would be Nadal if….,” a third fan wrote.
One fan opined that injuries are part and parcel of the game and others have suffered more. They wrote:
“Every single tennis player has injuries. I believe only Delpo can say he really missed on what could’ve been, because he genuinely had such a bad luck with injuries…. And you gotta feel for Thiem as well, one injury and he was gone.. But Nadal? Cmon, enough with it.”
One fan believes that Nadal pushed his body to win titles and the injuries are a ‘direct result’. They wrote:
“Nadal’s injuries were a direct result of his style of play. He has literally tore his body to pieces to win titles. Nadal without injuries is totally different player. And I highly doubt he would have been that successful. It was that very style of play which made him so good.”
One fan referenced Nadal’s famous quote, “If, if, if… doesn’t exist,” which he said when asked what Nick Kyrgios could achieve if the Aussie had his work ethic. They wrote:
“I thought if if if never existed…”
“The numbers don’t lie, I would say Novak Djokovic is the best in history” – Rafael Nadal
In an interview with La Sexta, earlier this year, Rafael Nadal said Novak Djokovic is the best player in the world referring to his statistical superiority. He called the Serb a ‘good person’ and stated that Djokovic had a better body than him.
“Novak breaks the racket but at the next point he is one hundred percent, that’s why he is the one who has achieved the most in the history of our sport. The numbers don’t lie, I would say he is the best in history. He has had a better body than mine and that also counts,” Nadal said.
Nadal has won 22 Grand Slam titles, 14 of which were the French Open. He has won 92 ATP career singles titles (131 finals) with 63 of them on clay. The Spaniard is also an Olympic gold medalist in the singles and doubles events.Meanwhile, Djokovic is a 24-time Grand Slam winner. He has 99 ATP career singles titles (140 finals) and is also an Olympic gold medalist in the singles event. He defeated Carlos Alcaraz to win gold at the Paris Games in August.
