Homicide investigation underway in Holmesburg after Philadelphia firefighter killed, police say

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A homicide investigation is underway in Philadelphia’s Holmesburg section.

Police say a Philadelphia firefighter was killed.

Police were called to the 4700 block of Shelmire Avenue around 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

When they arrived, officers found the victim dead inside the house.

No other information has been released about the victim at this time.

So far, there is no word on motive or any suspects.
