Andy Murray’s net worth has been boosted by a number of smart investments – with the tennis star having built his own mansion as well as owning a huge hotel

Andy Murray may have hung up his tennis racket, but his impressive net worth remains unaffected.

The British tennis ace, who bid farewell to the sport following a doubles defeat at the Paris Olympics this summer, has amassed a staggering fortune during his illustrious career, which includes two Wimbledon victories. Murray’s wealth is derived from prize money, endorsements, and a even grand hotel he owns with his wife Kim.

As we bid adieu to one of Britain’s most successful sports figures, let’s take a peek at some of his assets, ranging from the luxurious hotel to a house he even built himself.

Andy Murray’s net worth
Murray’s net worth is estimated to be over £81million. In addition to an incredible sum earned through prize money, believed to be around £50million, he also has several sponsorship deals that contribute significantly to his income.

He reportedly has a long-term contract with TRR Nutrition and a similar agreement with sportswear brand Castore. Murray had a four-year deal with Under Armour that netted him £15million. He also has a partnership with Jaguar and is the sole shareholder of 77 Management, reports the Express.

Andy Murray’s £5million mansion
Murray and his wife Kim resided in a lavish £5million mansion in Surrey, which they purchased in 2009. The couple shared the property with their four young children: Sophia, Edie, Teddie and Lola.

The house boasts five bedrooms, a swimming pool, cinema room, sauna and gym, as well as space for Murray’s collection of luxury cars. However, Andy and Kim sold the property for just under £5million to build their dream home.

Building his own home
The Murrays have constructed their home in a bespoke manner, with plans revealing a swimming pool, massage room, changing facilities, and a sauna. The gym will also have a summer house attached, while Tim Henman recently revealed that he visited the property for Murray’s extravagant retirement party.

The location of the US Open Champion’s new home in Leatherhead, Surrey was carefully selected by Andy and Kim. Andy told Surrey Live: “At one point, I was travelling 40 weeks a year to tournaments so being closer to both Heathrow and Gatwick helped cut down on a little bit of my travel time.”

Kim added that the new property features a large garden where she spends most of her time. She told the Telegraph: “It’s a real family home with lots of woodland space where the kids can run free and unplugged. The garden is my happy place, so that’s where you’ll always find me.”

In addition to the residential properties he owns, including one in Cromlix close to his hometown of Dunblane, Murray also owned a luxury apartment in Miami, which he sold for around £1.8million in 2017.

Andy and Kim’s hotel
Kim, who owns a hotel with her tennis star husband, has revealed their venture into hospitality was never part of the original game plan. They were drawn to purchase the property, which was on the brink of shutting down, due to personal memories it was where they celebrated their nuptials.

She expressed to the Telegraph the couple’s pride in contributing to the community by offering job opportunities. “It’s near where Andy grew up, so it was very much about supporting the local community,” she said.

“We had our wedding reception there in 2015 and since then our connection to the area has grown ever stronger. The hotel is thriving and provides jobs for local people. It all feels very special.”
