Prince George is expected to further modernise the monarchy
Prince George is expected to break away from centuries-old, gaudy traditions of the British monarchy by missing out on key experience when he becomes King.

According to royal experts and commentators, the eldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton will further his grandfather King Charles’ agenda to modernize the monarchy in a bid to better resonate with the public.

There are more than one way George might be a different King than his predecessors, including his own father Prince Willism.
Besides the prince skipping out on military training in later years, which has previously been a prerequisite for male members of the royal family, he will also break a tradition via his mother.

Royal correspondent for 5 News, Simon Vigar said, “It is a slimmed down royal family already,” noting: “It is less formal, it’s not quite as starchy as it used to be, and I think George will continue that.

“You know he’s the first future king to have a ‘commoner’ as his mum,” he noted, “that in itself is a massive break from tradition.”

Richard Key, Editor-at-Large at the Daily Mail, echoed similar sentiments drawing comparisons between the future British monarchy and “the monarchies on mainland Europe”.

A Channel 5’s documentary titled, Prince George: A King for the Future, is airing on Saturday, May 18 at 8:30pm.
