On July 14th, the audience could once again see Kate Middleton attending the Wimbledon finals. It was a tremendously emotional moment, as the 42-year-old Princess of Wales continues to receive her preventive chemotherapy treatment since being diagnosed with an unspecified cancer last January. An event where the princess wore her best smile and received a standing ovation from the attendees at the sports event.
Nearly a month later, Kate Middleton reappears, once again to show her support for sports. Surprisingly for the public, this new appearance of the Princess of Wales materializes in a video, in which she wanted to send heartfelt words to the British athletes participating in the Paris Olympics.
She has done so accompanied by her husband, Prince William, in images recorded in the gardens of Anmer Hall, the property in Norfolk where the couple is enjoying a quiet vacation and where the King Charles III’s daughter-in-law continues with her preventive cancer treatments.
In the video, presented by the rapper Snoop Dogg, the couple appears very smiling, congratulating the athletes of the “UK team” for their great efforts during the international competition, which has lasted for the past two weeks. “On behalf of all of us watching from home, congratulations to the team from Great Britain,” says the princess.
Images that partly resemble the video in which Kate Middleton announced to the world that she had cancer, as she is wearing a casual outfit consisting of a navy blue and white striped T-shirt very similar to the one she wore at that time, just before Easter vacation.
Prince William, on the other hand, in addition to an unusually thick beard – fuller than usual – wears the characteristic blue polo shirt of the Olympic team. “Congratulations on everything you have achieved,” says the British heir to the throne, following the 65 medals won – 14 gold, 22 silver, and 29 bronze – by the country’s athletes.
In addition to the Prince of Wales, the video features other personalities from the world of sports and British society, such as footballer David Beckham, former athlete and Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill, and television presenter Emma Willis.
A reappearance that has thrilled fans of the couple, especially because of how natural and spontaneous it was. “Great to see Kate again, and William unshaven! It’s been years since we’ve seen that. What a spectacle!”
The Princess of Wales had planned to attend some events with her husband, but on medical advice, she decided not to go
This video is the “confirmation” of Kate Middleton’s presence at the Olympic Games, which the princess had initially planned to attend, as announced by British media a few weeks ago. However, the recommendations of her doctors and the risk of exposure to diseases such as the coronavirus and other illnesses in large gatherings like the Olympic Games made the princess rethink her decision and choose to stay at home for her health.
