Kate Middleton reportedly found it ‘tough’ to see how upset Prince William was by all that had happened.
Kate Middleton was reportedly left ‘really upset’ by the Royal Family’s ‘estrangement’ from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, though one aspect was particularly ‘tough’ to watch.
Kate Middleton is said to have faced “tough” times after seeing how much the situation with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has affected her husband. The Duchess of Cambridge herself is known to have once been close to her brother-in-law and reports have suggested that Kate Middleton wants to make up with the Sussexes. Whilst some have claimed that she hoped they could be “pulled back in” to the Royal Family fold before their “tell-all” Oprah Winfrey interview.
Since this astonishing special aired, rumors about a “rift” between Prince Harry and Meghan and the wider Royal Family have continued to circulate. Now it’s been suggested that the thing that really affected Kate throughout this challenging time has been seeing Prince William so “distraught”.
According to People, a close insider has opened up about how “upset” the situation made the Duchess, though it seems to have brought her and Prince William “closer”.
The publication reports that the insider claimed that Kate’s been “really, really upset about it all”. Whilst a friend supposedly alleged that, “Everything with Harry and Meghan has been hugely stressful, but if anything, it’s pulled [her and William] closer together.”
“She was upset about it because [William] was so upset. Seeing her husband so distraught was tough”, they added.
Earlier this year Prince William spoke out in a rare candid moment following Meghan Markle’s claim during the Sussexes’ Oprah interview that an unnamed member of the Royal Family raised concerns about her and Harry’s son Archie’s skin color. Prince William declared the royals are “very much not a racist family”.
Meanwhile, during their interview, Prince Harry and Meghan, who decided to “step back” as senior royals, made several other astonishing revelations about royal life. It saw Meghan set the record straight on rumors she made Kate cry before her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, claiming it was the other way around.
This allegation is something that reportedly also deeply affected the Duke of Cambridge, with it previously being claimed Prince William can “no longer hide” his feelings about it. With her royal husband said to be so “distraught” by the situation with Prince Harry and Meghan, Kate finding it so “tough” and “stressful” not only for herself, but through seeing how it affected him is certainly heartbreaking.
Since Prince Harry and Meghan’s royal exit, the Cambridges have been observed taking on an even more prominent role in royal life. Back in August 2021, it was even claimed that Kate could be handed Prince Harry’s former role as patron of the Rugby Football Union and the Rugby Football League by the Queen.
And with their personal and professional lives so affected by recent events, many royal fans will no doubt be hoping to see Prince William and Kate reunite with Prince Harry and Meghan in public at some point in the future.
