Lewis Hamilton has made no secret of his ambitions in the film industry.
Sir Lewis Hamilton has revealed he turned down the opportunity to star in a 2022 Hollywood blockbuster but has admitted he regrets the decision after seeing the film.

Lewis Hamilton is widely regarded as the most successful driver in the history of Formula 1, with a record seven driver championships, he shares the top spot for the most titles alongside Michael Schumacher.

Additionally, he holds the records for the most wins (103), pole positions (104), and podium finishes (197), solidifying his status as the ‘Greatest of All Time’ in the eyes of many fans around the world.

Lewis Hamilton has always been active away from the track and has already embarked on many successful business ventures outside of F1 which include fashion, film as well as launching his own beverage.

Film, however, appears to be Hamilton’s biggest passion having already appeared in Disney’s Cars 2 and Cars 3 as well as currently producing an F1 film starring Brad Pitt.

Speaking in an interview with GQ, Hamilton revealed the world of film is probably where his future lies.
“I think it’s gonna be film and fashion,” He explained.

In the interview the seven-time World Champion also revealed he has already had a major Hollywood opportunity to star alongside Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick.

“Firstly, I hadn’t even had, like, an acting lesson. And I don’t want to be the one that lets this movie down,” Hamilton explained.

“And then secondly, I just really didn’t have the time to dedicate to it. I remember having to tell Joe and Tom, and it broke my heart.

“And then I regretted it, naturally, when they show me the movie and it’s: ‘It could’ve been me!’”

Top Gun Maverick was a huge success, with fans blown away to learn the actors were actually in the fighter jets as opposed to using CGI for the flying sequences.

Despite Hamilton turning 40 next year, he has committed at least another two seasons to F1 by signing for Ferrari, so it might be a bit of time before we see the superstar go from the car to the big screen.
