Lewis Hamilton used his downtime to visit Paris for the 2024 Games.

Lewis Hamilton took a swift trip to Paris for the 2024 Olympics.
Lewis Hamilton was spotted in Paris supporting a Team USA Olympian during his break from the F1 season.

Hamilton was in the French capital to support Miles Chamley-Watson – an American fencer and a good friend of the Mercedes driver.

The seven-time world champion has been open about his friendship with Chamley-Watson, having been previously spotted catching rays in Australia, dressing up as Mario characters in Japan and yachting around Europe.

On the pair’s relationship, Chamley-Watson told Olympic.com in the build-up to the Games: “We love taking trips together. I think that’s what helps me in my sports life is keeping my mind free in the off-season.”

Chamley-Watson was competing in the fencing at the Grand Palais, with the athlete closing in on yet another Olympic medal.

The now 34-year-old won bronze with the States at the Rio Games eight years ago for his efforts in the men’s team foil competition.

If things go to plan though, Chamley-Watson might be calling his mate Hamilton a fellow Olympian, given the Brit has shared an interest in competing at a future Games.

On the prospect of becoming an Olympian, Hamilton told CNN: “So, I have a really good friend, Miles Chamley-Watson, who’s competing in fencing.

“We’ve been supporting each other all the time, and we talk pretty much every day. So, I know how hard he’s been working, and I would love to be with him on that…

“No, I’m not good enough to be in the Olympics [with surfing or fencing] but maybe I’ll do an Olympic sport one day.”

Hamilton has shown no signs of giving up on his F1 career in recent years, with a move to Ferrari pencilled in for the 2025 season.
However, Hamilton wasn’t the only high-profile name in attendance to watch the Team USA fencing bout.

Dubbed the unofficial Team USA mascot at these Games, rapper Snoop Dogg was also snapped at the Grand Palais.

It’s been an eventful week for Snoop, who carried the Olympic torch prior to the opening ceremony last week, before taking in several events across Paris.

They included a trip to watch Simone Biles and her USA team-mates tumble to gold in the gymnastics, as well as the dressage competition, despite Snoop reportedly being scared of horses.
