Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton was spotted enjoying the tennis at the 2024 US Open alongside Paris Olympics gold medalist Noah Lyles on Saturday evening. The seven-time world champion sat with the Olympics 100m champion from the recently concluded Summer Olympics and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour to watch the women’s singles final between Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula.
Hamilton could be seen talking with Lyles in between points. The match was eventually won by Sabalenka, who claimed her third Grand Slam of her career and her first US Open title, defeating home favorite Jessica Pegula in straight sets 7-5, 7-5 in a match that lasted almost two hours.
Earlier in the week, the British driver was spotted attending the Alaia Fashion Show for the designer’s Spring Collection 2025.The 39-year-old will soon be back to the grid in the upcoming double header in Baku and Singapore. He was seen in New York on the back of two difficult races at Zandvoort and Monza, where he finished P8 and P5, respectively.Hamilton recently opened up about entering his final races with the Mercedes F1 team as he prepares to leave the team for Ferrari at the end of the 2024 season. He wrote on his Instagram story:
“Leaving Monza, it hit me that it was the last European race this year. The last time I’ll be in my room in engineering that’s been my home for 12 years.
“This is such a unique time in my life, one that continues to bring out a lot of emotions. What I feel the most is pride and gratitude. The memories will last forever, as will the memories I make next year,” he added.

F2 driver Kimi Antonelli opined that no one could ever replace Lewis Hamilton. The young Italian will be taking the seven-time world champion’s seat for next year at Mercedes F1.Speaking with F1.com, the Italian spoke about his dynamic with the seven-time world champion:
“I have to be honest, no one can ever replace Lewis because he’s such a great driver, such a great figure in the sport. He’s been helpful. Before my FP1, he came to me, gave me a high five, and told me to enjoy as much as possible.
“During weekends, sometimes we catch up, talk a bit about how the session goes and sometimes he gives me advice – like to keep working hard and believe in yourself because your time will come. He’s such a great guy – and I’m really thankful to have built a relationship with him. He’s such a great driver and super nice as well.”
The 18-year-old joined the Mercedes Driver Academy in 2019 and has been promoted by the German team for next year.
