The promising Canadian tennis player switched from the footwear brand endorsed by the Swiss Maestro to opt for the Puma Stewie 2 basketball shoe, which is designed by Breanna Stewart.”
The tennis player said in a recent interview with TennisOne: “I’ve been getting a lot of questions and comments about that. Yes I am wearing basketball shoes, I’m wearing Puma Stewie 2 and they feel super comfortable. They actually look a lot like tennis shoes, that’s actually where I saw them.
I saw it close to the tennis shoes and it looked like a tennis shoe, and I’m like, Ah, let me try this out. The clerk just told me, No, it’s basketball shoes. And then, some funny statement my dad made. He said why not just try it out on the tennis court? I’m like, yeah I’ll do it!
Let me buy it and let’s try it out. And I fell in love with it. So far it’s been going super well. I’m feeling great on court. I love the shoes, I love the colors. It matches super well with the Lululemon outfit. I’m super happy that I get to experiment on a couple of things.”
Roger Federer captain of Team Europe at the next Laver Cup?
Roger Federer was the protagonist during the first day of the Laver Cup in the center of the Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
The Swiss champion was keen to delight fans with an interview, together with Jim Courier who asked him some interesting questions.
The former player naturally recalled the moment of his retirement from tennis, just last year during this event he created: “I promised myself that I would never be a stranger on the circuit, that I would remain close to tennis once I I was withdrawn.
I don’t claim to be always travelling, but having been to Halle, Wimbledon and now here makes me very happy. I have many friends around the world that I miss.
Obviously I miss tennis and competition, especially the hot moments of the big matches, the atmosphere that can be felt in the most important stadiums in the world.
Without a doubt, I would go back to doing everything I did. I became a professional driver and logistics expert.
The girls are teenagers and it is impressive to see what they have become. It’s a difficult time, but they are all phases and you have to try to enjoy them.
I have had a very positive year, enjoying my family and with many exciting commitments and projects through the Foundation and my sponsors.”
Federer also did not rule out a sensational possibility for the next editions of the Laver Cup, namely that of becoming the captain of the Europe team: “All I remember about my farewell to London are positive things.”
