Tiger Woods

It’s a year since Tiger Woods launched his new clothing, footwear and accessories brand.

On February 12 last year, after splitting from long-time sponsor Nike, the former world No.1 went live with Sun Day Red and, well, it hasn’t exactly had its troubles to seek.

Its main man managed only 11 competitive rounds on the PGA Tour as injury once again curtailed his season.

On top of that, Sun Day Red has also found itself at the centre of multiple trademark infringement complaints, most recently last month when Puma filed a notice of opposition against its tiger-shaped logo.

However, it looks like there might finally be some good news on the horizon in the form of a new brand ambassador.

Earlier today, Sun Day Red’s social accounts shared the following update:

So, if we’re reading that hint correctly, there’s going to be an announcement of a new Sun Day Red-clad golfer on Tuesday.

Of course, the internet being the internet, the guessing game as to who the new man could be has already begun.

The smart money appears to be on it being one of Woods’ TGL teammates.

The 49-year-old’s Jupiter Links line-up comprises former US Open champion Wyndham Clark, four-time PGA Tour winner Kevin Kisner, and rising star Tom Kim.

However, other online sleuths think they’ve spotted a clue that would narrow the new signing’s identity down to a very, very small cluster of prospects.

It appears as though the player in the photograph above might be wearing two gloves, in which case Aaron Rai could be a distinct possibility.

The English ace famously uses a pair of gloves – one of the few players on tour to do so.

He also played in Woods’ 18-man Hero World Challenge shortly before Christmas and is on an exciting career trajectory.

A PGA Tour card-holder since 2022, he won his maiden title on the US-based circuit at the Wyndham Championship last August.

Currently 27th on the Official World Golf Ranking, he is contention to make his Ryder Cup debut later this year, too.

But is it him? Or has Woods signed somebody else?

We’ll find out soon enough…
