Red Bull must focus on eliminating a weakness at low speeds and on street tracks in 2024, according to World Champion Max Verstappen.
Verstappen put in the single most dominant season by a single driver in the history of the World Championship in 2023, winning 19 out of 22 races and setting a new points record of 575.
He would have claimed the Constructors’ Championship by himself by 166 points, with Mercedes finishing on 409 in second place behind Red Bull.
The only blot on the team’s copybook came in Singapore, where Ferrari and Carlos Sainz emerged victorious to prevent the team from sweeping the season.
Max Verstappen was also defeated in Saudi Arabia and on the streets of Azerbaijan, with the Baku circuit playing to the strengths of team-mate Sergio Perez, and is keen to see improvements made to the low-speed package.

“Of course there are,” Verstappen replied when asked by media including RacingNews365 if the Red Bull package had any weaknesses.
“Look at our race weekend in Singapore. In general, on street circuits, I think we struggle a bit more, like in Las Vegas also.
“Low speed is definitely not our strongest point in the car; bumps, and kerbs as well, so that is an area we can improve.
“We are working on our car to try and make it better. I think we know our weaknesses, and that’s what we’ll try to work on plus trying to make our strengths even stronger.”
With victory in Abu Dhabi, Verstappen recorded his 54th Grand Prix win, moving him above Sebastian Vettel’s 53 into third on the all-time win list, with only Lewis Hamilton (103) and Michael Schumacher (91) ahead.
When asked to select his best races of the year, the Dutchman selected a title-turning win in Miami.
“Winning the comeback race in Miami was great, that was important,” he said.
“Winning at home in Zandvoort was very nice and I think winning at Suzuka after the tough weekend in Singapore [were the best races].”
