McCausland Arena expands equestrian scene in Fairmount Park

The McCausland Arena is a brand new 45,000 square-foot equestrian facility in the heart of Fairmount Park.

FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) — The McCausland Arena is a brand new forty-five thousand square-foot equestrian facility in the heart of Fairmount Park.

The non-profit organization connected to the arena is the Work to Ride program. The program is designed for young people ages eight to eighteen from disadvantaged backgrounds who may not be exposed to horses.

Through equestrian activities, participants get a chance to learn aspects of the sport, and develop qualities and skills of responsible adults. Kareem Rosser is the not only the program’s Executive Vice President and an international competitor in polo, but he was also in the program from the age of eight. Lezlie Hiner is the visionary who founded Work to Ride thirty years ago.

Both are thrilled that the program can now be year round with the addition of the indoor arena.
