The Israel Gymnastics Federation has arranged a virtual meeting between the Olympic gymnast and Israeli gymnasts with the aim of offering motivation and support during the challenging times following the Gaza conflict, a national tragedy.
Israel’s gymnastics teams are about to receive a major boost for the upcoming Olympic year – at least mentally. Decorated U.S. Olympic gymnast Simone Biles will hold a video call with the Israeli gymnasts in a range of different age groups and answer their questions.
The conversation is set to be held next week and will be attended by gymnasts from the youth and senior squad in a limited format, so that Biles can address everyone and answer all their questions.
A month ago, Biles won the all-around gold medal at the World Championships for the sixth time, her first international competition since the Tokyo Olympics. She returned to training only in the last few months, and competed for the first time in August, in an event for the US team. She intends to participate in the Olympics in Paris this summer.
According to the Israel Gymnastics Federation: “Simone Biles accepted our initiative to hold a meeting of sports and professional motivational talk with the gymnasts of the national teams in preparation for the Olympic year. We are happy and thank her for that and are sure that the gymnasts will derive great value from the meeting.”
