A 59-year-old woman accused of trying to kill and poison a child was tracked down in Georgia after an eight-month investigation.

Officers say a 59-year-old fugitive, Anna Adamo, was tracked down in Georgia on Oct. 3, wanted on shocking charges of attempted homicide, aggravated child abuse, and poisoning a child with a liquid substance.

After her arrest, officials say Adamo was extradited to Florida, where she is currently being held at the Okeechobee County Jail on $600,000 bond.

Officers say her arrest follows an eight-month investigation by the Okeechobee City Police Department.

Due to the investigation being ongoing and to protect the privacy of the victim, many details have not been released.
