Fans have heard enough about Phil Mickelson’s wife, Amy Mickelson, to know what a lovely soul she is. While the golfer has faced criticism for his arrogance and controversies, his wife has consistently shown kindness and warmth to those around her. Despite being married for 28 years, Amy has largely avoided the spotlight, yet she has been present at almost every PGA Tournament Mickelson has played.
However, ever since Mickelson joined LIV Golf, her absence on the greens supporting the golfer has been noticed. Some even believed that Amy wasn’t on board with Mickelson joining the Saudi-backed league. But now, with Mickelson having been an LIV player for two years, that speculation has faded. Despite not being on the course every time, Amy is still known for keeping the Mickelson team united.
In a YouTube video of November 3, 2023, on the LIV Golf’s YouTube channel, Phil Mickelson revealed that Amy bought a house so that the Hyflyers could bond much better by spending more time together every week. “I wanna thank my wife Amy for finding this house. Bringing us together and coming up with the idea to have like a bonding week where we all can hang out,” the golfer continued thanking his wife.
In a press conference at LIV Golf Greenbrier on August 15, 2024, Phil Mickelson also shared heartwarming moments from his personal life and his relationships with the Hyflyers. The golfer started by complimenting his wife for being the life of the party, saying, “Amy usually has something up her sleeve for us, so you never know what’s coming. But we laugh a lot. We genuinely enjoy being around each other.”
When asked about a standout moment from the season, teammate Andy Ogletree chimed in. Ogletree mentioned a joint birthday party in Miami with Steeley, where Cam Smith’s dance moves, encouraged by Amy, were the highlight. Ogletree emphasized, “Amy made him get up there in front of everyone and do, stuff like that. We have such a good time.” So, it’s safe to say that the Hyflyers really admire Amy. But, this is not the first time Amy has helped keep things intact between the teammates.

Mickelson was quick to give Amy the credit she deserved for bringing amazing ideas to the table and being the team’s unity and strength. “My wife Amy is very creative and helpful and (has) got great ideas and so we’ve got a good unity in our team,” he said.
